Shepherding 101: Foundations for Pastoral Care & Leadership

  • Target Audience: Current or aspiring small group leaders, deacons, ministry volunteers, and those exploring a call to pastoral ministry.

  • Format: 10-week practical leadership lab (requires “Foundations of Faith” or equivalent as a prerequisite).

  • Description: This course moves from theological knowledge to practical ministry skills. Grounded in the pastoral epistles (1 & 2 Timothy, Titus) and Jesus’ model of servant leadership, it covers the character of a leader, basics of discipleship, giving spiritual counsel, leading Bible discussion, and caring for a small group or ministry team.

    • Core skills: active listening, prayerful counsel, and discipleship.

    • Preparing and delivering a short devotional or Bible lesson.
